    Frequently Asked Questions

This Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section provides detailed information about laptop screens, including tips on choosing the correct screen size, matching resolution, identifying connector types, and understanding replacement steps. Whether you're replacing a damaged display or upgrading, this guide will help you make an informed decision. For further questions or personalized support, feel free to contact our customer service team through our website or support helpline.

If your laptop is still turning on, the easiest way is to check it through your settings.

    • For Windows users, just right-click on the desktop and select “Display Settings.” You’ll see a section called “Display resolution” — that’s the number you’re looking for. Common examples include 1366x768 or 1920x1080.
    • On a Mac, head over to “System Preferences,” then open “Displays.” It’ll show the current resolution under the display tab.

But if the screen is damaged or the laptop won’t power on, you’ll need to dig a bit deeper.

In that case, the most reliable way is to open the laptop and look at the sticker on the back of the screen itself. You’ll find a model number printed there (something like LP156WH4-TLN1). Once you have that, a quick search online will tell you the exact resolution and specs.

Keep in mind: even two laptops with the same model name might have different screen resolutions. So it’s always best to go by the screen’s part number, not just the laptop model.

To measure the size of your laptop screen, you need to measure diagonally, from one corner of the visible screen area to the opposite corner — don’t include the bezels or frame around the screen.

    Here’s how to do it:

    1. Take a measuring tape or ruler.
    2. Start from the top-left corner of the actual screen (just the display area).
    3. Measure diagonally to the bottom-right corner.

The result will usually be in inches (for example: 13.3", 15.6", or 17.3"). If you’re using a metric ruler, just divide the centimeters by 2.54 to convert it to inches.

Tip: You can also look for the screen model number on the back of the panel — most part numbers include the screen size in inches (e.g., LP156 = 15.6").

The best way to be sure is to physically check the connector on your original screen. Here’s how you can do that:

    1. Remove the broken screen carefully — once the bezel is off and the screen is unscrewed, tilt it forward gently.
    2. On the back, you’ll see a thin cable connected to a port — this is your screen connector.
    3. Count the pins or look for a label on or near the connector. Most modern screens use a 30-pin or 40-pin connector. Touchscreen or high-resolution displays often have 40 pins, while basic HD screens usually use 30.

If you're ordering a replacement, match the connector type and position (some are on the left, some on the right, bottom, or center).

Quick tip: If you can find the model number on the back of the old screen (like LP156WH4), search it online — it usually tells you the connector type, resolution, and backlight info.

It’s always better to buy using the exact screen model number rather than just your laptop model, since manufacturers often ship the same laptop with different screen types.

The most reliable method is to check the model number printed on the back of your current screen. It guarantees perfect compatibility in size, resolution, and connector format.

Modern laptops (from around 2011 onward) almost always use LED backlighting—no inverter needed.

Older models may have CCFL backlights, which require a high-voltage inverter and can be incompatible with LEDs
